About Library

The Central Library of Central University of Gujarat Gandhinagar was started in 2009 as a resource centre that offers access to essential and specialized information resources and services to meet the growing information needs. The Central library is being equipped with books, textbooks, reference books and other resources. The library focuses on collections of resources taking into consideration the course contents and research needs of the university. The library’s learning resource collections are developed aiming at providing the highest research level and teaching support to the programmes and research thrust areas of the University. It is growing in breadth and depth and as on today, it holds about 41193+ books and subscribe to over 34 print journals and magazines, 6900+ e-journals and over 11314+ ebooks. The library operations are automated using KOHA  library management software, which has an inbuilt user-friendly Online Public Access Catalogue(OPAC) that allows library members to check the availability of book in the library. The library serves members who include faculty, students, research scholars and staff.  

Registered members can also access their library account and Remote Access.

Membership

Library membership is open to all students, faculty members, research scholars and staffs of the university to use the facilities and services after filling up the membership form.

Library Hours

The library remains open on all days, all through the year from 8.00 am to 12 midnight. except on 26th January, 15th August, 2nd October and Holi Festival. 

Borrowing Privileges

Only registered members can borrow General and TBL books for stipulated periods as mentioned below.

● Late Fee to all categories of Students and Research Scholars Rs.1.00 per day

● Borrowing privileges may go on changing from time to time.
